Raw instrumental data¶
The 'raw' dataset for an observatory includes the full record of all acquired data, including instrumental and environmental sensors.
These data are stored in short files (typically ~1 minute long) but include many thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of data channels.
The name of the 'raw' dataset is different for each IGWN observatory:
Observatory | Raw dataset name |
---|---|
KAGRA | K1_R |
LIGO-Hanford | H1_R |
LIGO-Livingston | L1_R |
Virgo | raw |
These data should be discoverable using GWDataFind.
Raw data are not distributed using OSDF.
The raw dataset for each observatory is not published into any OSDF namespace, and is only available at the observatory computing centre.
When using GWDataFind to discover raw data paths, you will need to use the local computing-centre GWDataFind server.
