Using your identity on the web

The most common use of a collaboration identity is to gain access to a restricted-access website through a browser.

CILogon (KAGRA and LIGO.ORG)

Most IGWN web services are configured to redirect users to https://cilogon.org for authorisation. In these cases users will be presented with a page that looks like this:

Users should select the either KAGRA or LIGO Scientific Collaboration from the Select an Identity Provider dropdown menu.

Do not select your home institution

At this time, a KAGRA or LIGO.ORG identity is not connected to a home institution identity, so you should not attempt to select your home institution from the dropdown list.

If you do, your attempt to connect to the service will likely be rejected.
